Week 28: DRINK

Two more months of winter.  Yes, some of us are already counting the days until spring!  With a warm drink in hand, we're watching the current season with wry amusement, yet acknowledging that it does have its perks:  comfort foods and drinks.  Who doesn't enjoy those?!

This week, we're going to think about the word DRINK and what it brings to mind!  Maybe it's a particular drink or maybe it's something you associate with a drink!  Whatever it is, we'd love to see your creative take on this week's cue word!

First, let's see what the design team and our guest designer, Heather, created for inspiration this week!

Guest Designer:  Heather
design defined:
Background stamps can be useful for so much more than backgrounds.
Don't be afraid to create your own shapes and images.

Judy
design defined:
Masking is a great way to add interest to a one-layer CAS card.

design defined:
Using negative space is a great way to keep your focal point from getting cluttered.

design defined:
Dimension is a great way to add interest to a clean and simple card.

design defined:
An otherwise colorless design is easily embellished with a touch of glitter and a little dimension.

Rosemary
design defined:
To keep a card with a large image CAS spotlight only a portion of the image.

Tracey
design defined:
Using neutrals plus only one colour keeps your CAS design cohesive.

design defined:
When your focal image is quite busy, lots of white space and simple matting keep it CAS!

Jen
design defined:
Look for alternate uses for your stamps - the thought cloud is actually part of a tree stamp.

Add some colour to a sentiment to tie it in with the image.

design defined:
Varying shades of the same color add interest and depth to a one-layer card.

Don't be scared to use bold patterns on your CAS cards.
Pairing patterns with a white card base helps to keep the design simple.

Using a monochromatic background adds interest without overpowering the design.

design defined:
Use a simple border die or punch repeatedly to create a clean and simple design.

A fussy process can still result in a CAS card!
