Week 98: SHINE

Polish up those CAS skills of yours and show us what you've got!  This is your week to shine, literally or not!

Before you get started, take a look at what this week's guest designer and the design team members created for inspiration!  Then, be sure and visit their blogs for extra tips on CAS design!

Guest Designer:  Gay
design defined:
Gather all you want to convey and then simplify and simplify again.  When it is totally pared down, only then can you play with the elements that are left!

Melissa
 design defined:
Clean lines definitely help when creating a CAS design.

Tracey
design defined:
Adding cardstock that picks up a colour from the focal image can add interest.

Ardyth
design defined:
When using eye-catching supplies like mirror card, keep it small to preserve a clean feeling!

design defined:
Glossy accents is a great way to add dimension and texture to a card

 Jen
design defined:
A spritz of mist adds interest and dimension to a one layer card.

 Joyce
design defined:
Keep your stamped and die cut elements to 1/3 of the card.

Judy
design defined:
You can pair die cuts with stamps for a clean and simple design.

Kimberly
design defined:
White space does not need to be white!

May
design defined:
Generation stamping adds great dimension to one layer card.
design defined:
Shaker cards can be clean and simple, too!

Now go have fun creating your CAS design and don't forget to link up here on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CDT)!

Week 97: Weekly Winners!

It's time to announce our Weekly Winner and Honorable Mentions!

Judy had the honor of selecting the Winner for Week #97 and here is the card she selected:

WINNER

Angela's die cut bee with hand-drawn accents and partially embossed background still manage to keep this fun card totally clean and simple.  This card definitely made me happy!

Congratulations, Angela!

Here are the Honorable Mentions chosen by the rest of the design team:

Kimberly's Choice
Sarah's card was CAS bliss!  The lovely fading stenciled circle and minimal accents & colors just made me warm and fuzzy!

Meghan's Choice:  Ellen's sweet images were perfectly framed by two layers of coordinating card stock.  Lots of white space makes this a classic clean and simple card!

Gillian's Choice: Harriet's clever use of a button adds a burst colour and texture to her CAS card.

Melissa's Choice:  Skye used so many CAS design elements on her card perfectly!  There is abundant white space, added dimension using white on white and a perfect little trio of hearts (Rule of Three)!

Ardyth's Choice:  Somdeepa's clever use of selective dry embossing really adds punch to this fun card. A limited colour palette, lots of clear space and one central focal point make it CAS!

Joyce's Choice:  Barb's sweet card incorporates a friendly bee as well as a cute pun.  She left lots of white space on her focal point as well as her card front.

May's Choice: I love the hint of bee inside of fun shaker box on Rahmat's card. Her hand drawn sentiment is so unique and perfect to be seen as a trail.

Jen's Choice:  Sherrie's layered stamping and pop of yellow convey the "bee" theme in a fun and simple way.

Tracey's Choice: I just love Shelly's use of the graphic images to create a very modern design that is clean and well balanced.

Congratulations to all of you!
