Week 320: COMPLIMENT

It's time for a new cue word and we're pretty sure the gallery will be filled with positive vibes!

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

Lawn Fawn is returning as our sponsor and this week's winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to their online store!  If you haven't already, be sure and take a look at their latest release, full of winter/holiday inspiration!  For even more inspiration, go check out their YouTube channel!

Let's see what the design team and this week's guest designer created for inspiration!

Keep stenciling to a small area to preserve the CAS look.

Bright and bold colors + lots of white space works very well for a CAS design.

Bharati

No coloring is another way to go CAS.

Deidre
design defined:
Vellum works as a nice way to add a layer and still keep it CAS.

design defined:
A diagonal line in the design adds interest.

design defined:
Offset your elements to the side to preserve white space.

Jen
design defined:
A small amount of patterned paper goes a long way on a CAS card.

design defined:
Use multiple shades of a single color.

design defined:
White space doesn't have to be white.

Marcie
design defined:
A single pop of colour and touch of sparkle brightens up a CAS card.

Rachel
design defined:
Use subtle shadowing to ground a large image.

design defined:
Layering your greeting and image can keep your card CAS.

Go have fun creating your CAS design and don't forget to link up here on the CASology blog by Monday, November 12, at 9:00 a.m. (CST)!

Week 319: Weekly Winners!

It's time to announce our Weekly Winner and Honorable Mentions!

Joyce had the honor of selecting the Winner for Week #319 and here is her selection:

Sandie's cheeky card is full of wonderful details like subtle embossed numbers, yet perfectly CAS.  I just love her sentiment as well.

Congratulations, Sandie!

Due to a rather quiet week in the gallery, we decided to select two honorable mentions as a team for last week's challenge.  Here are the two that we selected:

This CAS design by Nish Creations uses clean lines and multi-colored numbers for interest.  (Don't ask us to solve the equation!)

Jane's fun design has plentiful white space, a monochromatic color scheme and a pop of dimension!

Congratulations!
