Week 336: OCEAN

Last week, we kept both feet on the ground.  This week, we're diving in as we explore a brand new cue word!

**Please note:  Due to it being spring break season, this will be a two week challenge to give everyone plenty of time to enter & design team members a little breather!

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

STAMPlorations is returning as our wonderful sponsor and is offering this challenge's winner $25 off their next online order!  Be sure and check out their Spring Cleaning March Sale for 30% off stamps and dies!

Let's take a look at what the design team and this week's guest designer created for inspiration!

Guest Designer:  Asa

A main focal point in the center draws attention to it.

Bharati

Contain the design to maximum white space.

Deidre
design defined:

Don't be afraid to create a scene! They work for CAS cards too.

design defined:
Use stencils and ink to create an image.

Janet
design defined:
White on white die cuts create texture while preserving white space.

Jen
design defined:
The Rule of Thirds works well in CAS design layouts.

Joyce
design defined:
Leave the top part of your card white and cluster colored elements below.

Karen
design defined:
An analogous color scheme with variations of saturation gives depth to a card.

Melissa
design defined:
Keep patterns confined to a limited area.

Rachel
design defined:
Masking can help add color without losing precious white space!

Sue
design defined:
Add depth with ink layering.

Go have fun creating your CAS design and don't forget to link up here on the CASology blog by Monday, April 1, at 9:00 a.m. (CDT)!
