Week 367: MAGICAL

Many of us feel like we could use a magic wand about now, don't we?  Leave a comment on this post between now and when this challenge ends on May 11th stating what exactly you'd do if you had a magic wand in your possession right now!  Then, go create a magical CAS creation to share in the gallery for your chance to win a prize from Uniko!

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:

  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

Uniko is returning as our wonderful sponsor!  Be sure and check out the newest products in the store as well as those that are currently on sale!

Let's see what the design team and our guest designer created for inspiration to get us started!

Guest Designer:  Hannelie
design defined:
Use color to create a cohesive design.

Deepti

design defined:
Any colored card stock with lots of space comes under CAS design.

design defined:
Don't be afraid to cut away bits of an image or embellishment to keep proportions correct.

design defined:
Layer white die cuts to keep the design CAS.

Jen
 design defined:
Use neutral colours around a multi-colored image to reduce busyness.
design defined:
Cluster your design elements together.

design defined:
Use masking when making scenes - leaving lots of white space.

Milka

design defined:
Plenty of white space, a small amount of color and adding dimension gives a CAS card special interest.

design defined:
If you don't have the right sentiment, create one on your computer and print it!

Sandie
design defined:
Use a soft background and only on part of the card.

design defined:
Leave plenty of white space.

Go have fun creating your CAS design and don't forget to link up here on the CASology blog by Monday, May 11, at 9:00 a.m. (CDT)!

  5. Sickness is part of life, but what I really miss right now is people being kind and courteous and thoughtful and generous. We should not need a magic wand to make this happen!
