It's time for the very first challenge here at CASology and we're so glad you're here!
Here is how it will work:
1. Every Tuesday, a cue card will be posted containing a single word.
2. Take that word and run with it! Interpret it however you'd like! Just be sure and keep things clean and simple!
3. Deadline is Sunday at noon (CST) to link up your project here on the challenge blog. Be sure to provide a link to the CASology blog within your blog post!
4. Feel free to combine this challenge with other challenges.
A Winner and 4 Honorable Mentions will be announced Monday!

I decided to put the focus of my card on the sun and used a bold floral image to create my sun. My card also has a lot of white space. I created a bit more interest by lightly embossing the white panel.

Let's get started!
The design team has created some wonderful cards to inspire you and have included some brief descriptions of their CAS designs!

The curved edges of the rays imply that the sun is there, but it's not! I love to use shapes in creative ways to make my designs. A key component for CAS design is to have lots of white space which keeps the card feeling light and fresh!

When I make a really CAS card I tend to use textured or embossed card for the base as it adds some interest without stealing from the design. Using patterned paper also creates the same effect and, for me, a few gems always give the card it's final pop!

I chose sunglasses as my main focal image. I prefer clean lines in
my CAS designs, so went with a rectangular panel, layering the main
images on a rainbow of color and positioning it a bit off center.

I decided that my card was going to feature the sun and a pair of flips
flops. When I create a CAS card I try to use subtle elements to create
interest without overdoing. I used embossing on my focal panel for
texture, die cuts and foam dots for dimension on my sun and gems to add
sparkle to the flip flops.
Now go have fun with this and don't forget to link up your creation here by Sunday at noon (CST)!
