Week 51: FIREWORKS

How about a little excitement this week?  July typically arrives with a bang, literally, here in North America, and we thought we'd see what kind of exciting interpretations you come up with for this fun cue word!

This week, Cindy Coutts is returning as our sponsor and she's adding to the excitement by offering this week's winner not one, but THREE Paper Smooches stamps sets (Shadows, My Peeps and Leafy Greens)!  She also wanted us to be sure and mention her upcoming online card class called Let's Color!  It begins July 22nd (registration opens July 15)!  You can find updates on her blog.

Now let's see what the design team and this week's guest designer have created to inspire you!

Guest Designer:  Jenny
design defined:
A sentiment at a jaunty angle combined with a few ink splatters adds interest without making thing too busy.

Gillian
design defined:
Sparkle can add interest to a mainly white card.

Jen
design defined:
No firework images?  Use a flower!

Judy
design defined:
Using tinsel embossing powder can brighten up your one layer CAS cards.

Kimberly
design defined:
Masking with bright colors adds drama to a CAS design.

Maureen
design defined:
Small embellishments in the center of your image can help make them pop.

Meghan
design defined:
Layers can work for a clean and simple card if you keep the card itself fairly simple!

Melissa
 design defined:
Use a stencil to create a simple background on a CAS design!
design defined:
A subtly embossed background can add interest without cluttering up a CAS design.

Tracey
design defined:
The rule of three will support a large die cut without it taking over your CAS design.

Ardyth
design defined:
Grouping items together to create one focal point keeps things CAS!

Now go have fun and don't forget to link up your FIREWORKS creation by Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (CDT)!

  3. I entered this challenge for the first time. I am #40, but I seem to have linked it wrong as there is an error message when I click on it. I tested it and it opened then. I want to enter more, but what am I doing wrong? Can you help?
