Week 52: NEON

Better put your shades on this week!  We're heading off into rather bright territory!  We think some of you will agree that NEON brings plenty of memories flooding back from the 1980's, but there are some rather bright things appearing in the stores these days too!  We can't wait to see where this word takes you!

We have Avery Elle returning to sponsor us this week and this week's winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to their store!  Be sure and check out all the creative goodness they have there!

Now let's see what the design team and this week's guest designer dreamed up for NEON inspiration!  If you find yourself at a loss for ideas, just visit their blogs because they'll explain their designs more there!

Guest Designer:  Shirley
design defined:
Dig out your iridescent mica powders, your white embossing powder and black card, and make your own neon signs!

design defined:
Pop up some design elements and not others to create interest.

design defined:
Don't have neon inks?  Use neon papers instead!

design defined:
Stamping in multiples can add interest and movement as well as ground an image.

design defined:
Use your die cuts to make graphic patterns and borders.

design defined:
Neon colours on a black background make for a BIG impact on a clean and simple card.

 design defined:
One focal image, simply embellished, can produce an effective CAS design.

  design defined:
A slightly grungy look can work for a CAS design, just keep it simple!

design defined:
Using only sentiments packs a punch on a CAS design.

design defined:
Made a mistake? Turn it into a feature of your CAS design!

design defined:
Mounting white card on black cardstock can make your neon colours pop!

Now go have fun and don't forget to link up your NEON creation by Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (CDT)!

  4. Hi, does the creation always have to be a card? Or can we enter some other handmade stuff like bags or bookmarks? Thanks!

    1. As long as your creation doesn't require a lot of assembly before decorating, I say go for it! :)
