Friday Feature: Monika Reeck

It's time to introduce a new Featured Designer!  Please welcome Monika Reeck!  She is one of the sweetest and most supportive gals out there in the crafting community!

Hello Blogland Friends!

My name is Monika (When I married my hunny, my name became Monika Reeck). My blog is called Creative with Monika.  When Melissa asked me to be a featured designer for a month at CASology, I screamed oh yeeess, I would love it very much!  Many thanks, dear Melissa, for giving me the opportunity to be featured here on your challenge blog.

I came from Indonesia and since marrying my hubby from Germany, started living in Munich, Germany in 2001.  I started to make cards in the year 2002.  When I joined a German course, I wanted to give a special birthday card to a course participant. I started with using a paper punch. Then in January 2008, I found Hero Arts on FLICKR. There we can share our cards that we make with Hero Arts products. The ladies there are very supportive and I was a newbie. I was always happy to visit my friend's card photos in Flickr and I got some lovely love there. Since then I have always joined Hero Arts' challenge on their blog.

One day, I found Blogger and found many challenges out there. Then I started my own blog in April of 2009 and joined one single challenge. Then I was flying to Indonesia for a 5 month holiday with my kids & was not actively making cards anymore.  Then I started to go to school again in Munich and made only one or two cards per week. In November 2010, I started to go to an Office Administration School &, because of that, I made fewer cards and did not blog very much.

One day, I found a lovely challenge at CASology from my friend Lai Yoke and, since then, I try to always join the challenges at CASology. I sometimes have not joined because the cue word is so difficult and my brain is stumped. I found making CAS cards is not so difficult!  Why?  I still have two little boys (One is already 11 and 9 years old, so not baby boys anymore! *SMILE*) and have less time to make complicated cards!  Making CAS cards has really challenged me to think fast and make nice cards with minimum embellishments and with one focal point.  The result is my card is finished fast and is clean too!
