Introducing...Anna Uhras!

Please welcome Anna Uhras to the CASology design team!  She will be joining us as a design team member beginning with next week's challenge!

Hi I'm Anna and I'm from a little village in the middle of Sweden. My family of seven, hubby (since 23 years), five kids, (22, 20, 18, 6 and 4 ) and I are living at our farm, where my hubby works, and I work halftime as a hairdresser. I have to admit, I'm addicted to Scrapbooking/Cardmaking and all the pretty papers and supplies around our awesome hobby. As often as I can, I love playing along at CASology, therefore, I'm so happy and honored that Melissa asked me to be a dt-member here. I´m also a member of some other design teams, which is so fun and very developing. My first contact with this hobby was in about 2007, mostly cardmaking. But I think my "real" start was about Fall 2012 when I discovered Scrapbooking with layouts. I mostly do traditional 12x12, but also letter size sometimes. When it comes to cards, my style is mostly CAS but sometimes I do some "all in" cards too. On the other hand, when talking layouts my style is hard to define for me, it depends on what has inspired me at that moment. I love rich and bright colors, layers, white space, thread and even machine stitching is often to be found on my layouts.
I am really looking forward to being a dt member here at lovely CASology and I hope we will have some happy chats both here and over on my blog.  Thank you so much, Melissa, for giving me this opportunity.  I feel so blessed and honored!

We know you're going to love Anna and the clean and simple inspiration she brings to CASology!  She's been a faithful participant in our challenges, so you may already be familiar with her work!

A Fond Farewell

Today, we're bidding a very fond farewell to design team member Hazel Hodgkins.  She is stepping down from the team as we finish out the first half of the year.  Hazel, we will miss your sweet personality here at CASology!  You've been a wonderful part of the design team, but we know life moves on and you're off to the next chapter!  Enjoy the journey!

Please join us in giving Hazel a fond farewell either here or on her blog, Hazel's Paper Designs!

Week 255: FLY

We're flying on into a brand new week!  Come join us on another fun journey of clean & simple creativity!

As always, remember the following CAS guidelines when creating your design:
  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)
Rubber Dance Stamps is returning as our wonderful sponsor this week and some of the design team has used images from the online store on their designs!

This week's winner will receive the Textured Feathers set (a 5x7 sheet, un-mounted, red rubber stamps)

Let's see what the design team and this week's guest designer created to inspire you!

A central design is classically CAS.

"White space" doesn't always have to be white in a CAS design.

No embellishments for this CAS masculine card!

Hazel

A little glitz can go a long way on a CAS card.

Use foam adhesive to add dimension which provides interest without business.

design defined:
Have part of your design extend off the edge of the page.

design defined:
Let your background provide interest on your CAS card.

design defined:
Using the one third rule will keep your card CAS!

Melissa
 design defined:
Uncolored images work very well on a CAS design!

Rachel
design defined:
Add a bit of stenciling behind your focal image to help it pop on a white background.

Go have fun creating your CAS design and don't forget to link up here on the challenge blog by Monday at NOON (CDT)!

Week 254: Weekly Winners!

It's time to announce our Weekly Winner and Honorable Mentions!

Melissa had the honor of selecting the Winner for Week #254 and here is her selection:

Michele's unique card shape grabbed my attention immediately!  She used patterned paper very effectively and the single, die cut heart she used as the focal point is just perfect!

Congratulations!
